1. Remove the Power Cell from the
line trimmer as outlined in Fig. 7.
2. Grasp the bump head housing (1)
with one hand (Fig. 6).
3. Grasp the spool knob (2) with the
other hand and press the spool
firmly into the spring loaded bump
head housing.
4. While pressing the spool firmly into
the spring loaded bump head
housing, rotate the spool knob
clockwise (3) until it will not turn
any further.
NOTE: The spool will rotate
approximately 15°.
5. Pull the spool out of the bump
housing.
6. Remove the trimmer line from the
spool and set the line aside so the
line if undamaged can be
reinstalled onto the spool later.
7. If any trimmer line is entangled on
the bump housing shaft, carefully
cut it out using scissors, side
cutters or a knife.
8. Use a clean rag to clean all debris
from the bump head shaft, inside
the bump head and from the spool.
NOTE: If the bump head and spool
are not properly cleaned, the bump
head will not work properly.
REINSTALLING THE EMPTY SPOOL
INTO THE BUMP HEAD
To install the empty spool into the bump
head, simply reverse the process
outlined in steps #2 through #5 above.
NOTE: The spool must be empty and
