A defective Ice Bank Control could also be the problem, so test and replace it if necessary.   If your Cornelius Dispenser is dispensing only water and no concentrate, first ensure that the concentrate container is fully engaged into the receptacle on the pump platform. If not, refer to the Concentrate Loading section of this manual. Next, check that the Dispense/Flush lever is in the DISPENSE position, not the FLUSH position. Also, the concentrate might be too cold and not properly thawed; it should be between 35 to 40°F (1.7 to 4.5°C) before loading. Finally, a defective pump motor could be the problem, requiring replacement.

  If your Cornelius Dispenser continues to dispense after the dispense button is released or dispenses without operator input, it could be due to a push button or portion control pad stuck in the ON position. To check this, disconnect the wire harness from the rear of the portion control and close the door. If the unit stops dispensing on its own, the dispense control board is faulty. Another cause might be a relay on the voltage regulator board (VRB) stuck on. To diagnose this, disconnect the 4-wire harness from the lower right corner of the VRB. If the unit continues to dispense on its own, the VRB is defective.

What causes BRIX problems in a Cornelius Dispenser?

  If your Cornelius Dispenser has a BRIX problem, it could be due to several reasons. The water supply pressure might be too low, less than 20 psi (1.4 bar). Correct the water supply problem to ensure a constant 50 psi (3.5 bar) flowing to the dispenser. The water flow control might be binding or the spring is defective; clean and/or replace parts as necessary. Also, the concentrate might be improperly thawed; concentrate should be 35 to 40°F (1.7 to 4.5°C) prior to loading.

Another reason could be an inoperable or restricted agitator motor/pump; check and replace the agitator motor. A loss of refrigerant charge due to a leak in the system can also cause this issue; repair the leak and recharge the system.

  If water continuously drips from the nozzle of your Cornelius Dispenser in the OFF mode, it could be because the main water solenoid at the base of the unit or the water solenoid on the pump platform is not shutting off completely. Try cleaning the solenoid(s) and replace parts as necessary; refer to the Planned Maintenance section for guidance.
