The pressure switch might need adjustment or replacement. The tank could be waterlogged; pre-charge the tanks by adjusting the air pressure to 2 PSI (13.8 kPa) less than the pump cut-in pressure (when there is no water pressure on the system), and replace the bladder if necessary. A leak in the drop pipe could also be the cause, requiring you to replace the pipe above that point. Lastly, the pressure switch might be too far from the tank; move the switch to within one foot (.3m) of the tank.

Lastly, cable splices or motor leads might be grounded, shorted, or open. It is advised not to attempt to disassemble the pump or motor.
