TO START ENGINE
1. Standingbehindthe mower,squeezethe bladecontrolhandle
againstupperhandle.SeeFigure14.
2. Holdingthesetwohandlestogetherfirmly,grasprecoilstarter
handleandpull ropeslowlyuntil resistanceis felt, then pullwitha
rapid,continuous,full arm stroke.SeeFigure14.Keepingafirm
griponthestartercord handle,let theroperewindslowly.Repeat
untilenginecranks.Letthe roperewindeachtimeslowly.
Rapidretractionof startercord(kickback)will pullhandandarm
towardenginefasterthan youcan let go. Brokenbones,fractures,
bruisesorsprainscouldresult.
TO STOP ENGINE
1. Releasebladecontroltostopthe engineandblade.
Waitforthe bladetostopcompletelybeforeperformingany workon
themowerorto removethe grasscatcher.
USING YOUR LAWN MOWER
Besurelawnis clearof stones,sticks,wire,orotherobjectswhich
coulddamagelawnmoweror engine.Suchobjectscouldbeaccidently
thrownbythemowerin anydirectionandcauseseriouspersonalinjury
tothe operatorandothers.
Theoperationofany lawnmowercan resultinforeignobjectsbeing
thrownintothe eyes,whichcandamageyoureyesseverely.Always
wearsafetyglasseswhileoperatingthemower,or whileperforming
anyadjustmentsor repairsonit.
USING AS MULCHER
Formulchinggrass,removethe grasscatcherandsidedischarge
chutefromthemower.Foreffectivemulching,donot cutwetgrass.If
thegrasshas beenallowedto growinexcessof fourinches,mulching
isnot recommended.Usethegrasscatchertobagclippingsinstead.

USING GRASS CATCHER
Youcanuse the grasscatchertocollectclippingswhileyou are
operatingthe mower.
1. Attachgrasscatcherfollowinginstructionsinthe "Assembly"
section.Grassclippingswillautomaticallycollectinbagas you
runmower.Operatemoweruntilgrassbagis full.
2. Stopenginecompletelyby releasingthe bladecontrol.Makesure
thattheunit hascometo a completestop.
3. Liftdischargedoorandpullgrassbagupandawayfromthe
mowerto removethebag.Disposeofthe grassclippingsand
reinstallthebagwhencomplete.
Ifyoustrikeaforeignobject,stoptheengine.Disconnectthespark
plugwire,thoroughlyinspectmowerfor anydamage,and repair
damagebeforerestartingandoperating.Extensivevibrationofmower
duringoperationis an indicationofdamage.Theunit shouldbe
promptlyinspectedandrepaired.
