Tap Scan to start scanning your device for harmful apps.

Tap Settings to view Play Protect settings:

Slide the Scan apps with Play Protect switch to the On position to enable regular scanning for harmful apps on your device.
o
Slide the Improve harmful app detection switch to the On position to enable sending unknown apps to Google for better
detection.
Security update
Check for new software updates for your device.
1. From the Home screen, swipe up to access Apps and tap Settings.
2. Tap Security > Security update.
3. Tap Check for update to check for the latest updates.
Find My Device
Find My Device helps you locate your device remotely, keeping your data safe in the event that your phone is lost.
1. From the Home screen, swipe up to access Apps and tap Settings.
2. Tap Security > Find My Device.
3. Slide the switch to the On position to activate Find My Device.

There are several methods available to locate your device.
Screen lock
1. From the Home screen, swipe up to access Apps and tap Settings.
2. Tap Security > Screen lock.
•
None: Disable any screen lock.
•
Swipe: Tap to set swipe to unlock.
•
Pattern: Tap to set an unlock pattern. Follow the prompts to finish the settings.
•
PIN: Tap to set a PIN code as the screen unlock method.
•
Password: Tap to set a password as the screen unlock method.
Important: To protect your phone and data from unauthorized access, it is recommended that you use the highest security level available
(Password protection). It is also recommended you frequently change your password to ensure the safety of your phone and personal data. If you
failed to enter the correct pattern, PIN, or password, after five attempts, you will be prompted to wait for 30 seconds before you can try again.
Face Unlock
Tap to set up Face & Fingerprint Unlock and choose your backup screen lock method.
1. From the Home screen, swipe up to access Apps and tap Settings.
2. Tap Security > Face & Fingerprint Unlock.

Face Unlock + Pattern: Tap to set an unlock pattern. Follow the prompts to finish the settings.
•
Face Unlock + PIN: Tap to set a PIN code as the screen unlock method.
•
Face Unlock + Password: Tap to set a password as the screen unlock method.
Smart Lock
Unlock your device automatically in certain conditions. For more information about Smart Lock, tap Menu > How it works or Help.
1. From the Home screen, swipe up to access Apps and tap Settings.
2. Tap Security > Smart Lock.
•
On-body detection: Tap and slide the switch to the On position to activate. Your device will now be kept unlocked while it is on you.
•
Trusted places: Tap to add a trusted location where the device can remain unlocked.
