What to do if my Crown Kettle has extremely slow cooking time?
    • H
      hmillerJul 29, 2025
Several factors can cause extremely slow cooking times. First, air might be present in the kettle jacket; in that case, follow the AIR VENTING INSTRUCTIONS to remove the air. Second, a slow leak may have developed in the jacket; check all fitting connections, including the heating element gasket, and tighten or replace them if necessary. Finally, a heating element might be burnt out; test the elements, and if defective, replace the complete element assembly.

What to do if my Crown EL will not operate when turned on?
    • T
      Travis HammondAug 7, 2025
If your Crown Kettle doesn't operate when turned on, there could be several reasons. First, the water level in the jacket might be inadequate; in this case, follow the LOW WATER LEVEL instructions. Second, there might be a defective power switch or loose wire connections; check these components. Finally, the malfunction could be due to a defective thermostat or loose wiring connection(s). If the TEMPERATURE indicator light comes on when the thermostat knob is dialed fully, the kettle should eventually reach its maximum temperature (290?F) and a pressure reading of approximately 40 psi should be evident on the pressure gauge (on kettles rated at 50 psi).

How to fix low water level in Crown EL Kettle?
    • A
      Allison HughesAug 19, 2025
Low water level in your Crown Kettle may occur from excessive opening of or leakage through the safety relief valve. To resolve this, follow these steps: 1. Trip the safety relief valve lever to relieve all pressure from the kettle jacket. 2. At the exterior rear of the kettle jacket, remove the nut from the air vent. 3. Insert a funnel into the air vent opening and slowly add the indicated amount of clean water. 4. Replace the air vent nut. 5. Follow the AIR VENTING INSTRUCTIONS. 6. Continue normal operating procedure of kettle.
