What to do if the DANIEL 700 Control Unit valve will not open?
    • D
      Danny AcostaJul 29, 2025
If the DANIEL Control Unit valve won't open, several factors could be at play. First, ensure that the upstream valve is open. If it is closed, opening it should resolve the issue. Secondly, verify that the pump is operational and check for any signs of cavitation; start the pump if it's not running. Also, check the downstream valve and open it, paying special attention to the coupler on bottom loading units and the internal valve in the truck. Insufficient pressure could also be the culprit, so inspect the pump, bypass, and the strainer in the line. A clogged strainer can restrict flow, so clean it thoroughly. Lastly, swollen O-rings can impede valve function; in this case, disassemble the valve, replace the O-rings, and confirm their compatibility with the product being used.

Why the DANIEL 700 valve will not close off tightly?
    • D
Dr. Sheila Tran MDAug 8, 2025
If the DANIEL Control Unit valve is not closing tightly, there might be an issue with its components. A bent indicator stem could be preventing proper closure, so replacing the indicator is recommended. Foreign material lodged in the main valve piston seat can also cause this problem; disassemble the valve and inspect the piston for any obstructions. Swollen O-rings can interfere with the valve's sealing ability, so disassemble the valve, replace the O-rings, and ensure they are compatible with the product. Additionally, a cut or defective piston or seat O-ring can compromise the seal; disassemble the valve and replace the O-rings if necessary.

How to fix a DANIEL 700 Control Unit valve that opens too slowly?
    • V
      Vickie SawyerSep 12, 2025
If the DANIEL Control Unit valve opens too slowly, it could be due to a few reasons. Start by checking the strainer and pump for any obstructions, as valve inlet pressure below normal might be the cause. Also, swollen O-rings can impede valve movement; disassemble the valve and replace the O-rings, ensuring they are compatible with the product. Finally, check the "X" port sensitivity control needle valve position and open the sensitivity control needle valve, if it is closed too much.
