In Visual Luminance mode this is simply an informative item that indicates how
much the calibration process affected the output luminance of the monitor. In
particular, if the White Point was adjusted during calibration you will see a drop in
White Luminance from Uncalibrated to Calibrated which is the trade-off for getting
the correct white point.
In Measured Luminance mode this shows how close the user adjusted the
luminance levels using the monitor controls during calibration.
White Point
These values show the chromaticity values, in CIE xy, measured on the monitor when
a full White sample is displayed.
Uncalibrated
The value measured when the monitor is in its uncalibrated state. That is, the
chromaticity value of the white point before any adjustment has been performed.
Target
The desired or target value specified by the user. This value can be set in the Select
Target screen or the Select White Point screen.
Calibrated
The value measured when the monitor is in its calibrated state. That is, the
chromaticity value of the white point after being adjusted. This value should closely
match the Target value and is an indication of how well the calibration actually
adjusted the monitor’s behavior from the uncalibrated state to match the desired or
target state. The Delta E White Point value is another indication of this.
If the user specified that the monitor has RGB Gain controls then the value of the
calibrated white point shows how close the user adjusted the white point using the
monitor controls during calibration.
