Usual Setting
Preferences will usually be left at their default settings.
The Purpose of This Step
Preferences allow users to choose program options and select the measurement
instrument to use.
The Long Answer
The following items may be adjusted in Preferences:
Sensor
Select <none> or Spyder3. When troubleshooting sensor USB connection a good
practice is:
Select <none>
Unplug the Spyder
Plug the Spyder back in
Select Spyder3
When the sensor is found, the SN and Version fields in “Sensor Information” will be
filled in.
Port
There is no need to make any selection to this menu. When Spyder3 is selected this
menu will change to “USB”.
Recalibration Warning
You can indicate whether you want the Spyder Utility to remind you to re-calibrate the
display after a period of time. You can also disable the reminder by selecting “Never”.
Show Spyder3 status in menu bar
This controls whether or not the Spyder Utility will display a menu for easy access. On
Macintosh this will appear on the right side of the menu bar. On Windows this will
