ENGINE MOUNT
REPLACEMENT
The rubber
portion
of the
engme
mounts
may
become
soft cracked or
even
separated
to the
pomt
that the en
gme
IS allowed
to move farther than It
should

Its
mountmgs
Tlus could
cause
stress
on
hoses
or
allow the fan to
hit the
radiator or
Its
shroud
Your Datsun IS
eqUipped
With
three
englOe
mounts two located
at
the
left
and
nght
front ends of the
cyhner
block
and one
at
the transnusslOn
rear
exten
sion
housmg
Be sure to
keep
the
mount
free
of 011 and
grease
as oil
and
grease
can add
to
rapid
detenoratlOn of the
mount
You
can
replace
these worn out
or broken
engme
mounts Allow about
two
hours
to
replace
the two
front
moUl1ts
and
about 1
1 2 hours
for the
rear mount
FRONT
ENGINE
MOUNTS
Support
the
engme
This
can
be
done With either
a
cham fall or
a
Jack
With
aJack place
a
piece
of
wood 2x41s OK between the
Jack
and 011
pan
of the car and ralse
car
until there
IS
firm contact but the
suspensIOn
has
not
begun
to nse
Secure
With safe stands With 2x4
on
top
and remove
Jack Support
With the cham
fall
but
do not lIlse
the
suspensIOn
2 Loosen the front
engme mountmg
msulator
upper
nuts on both
Sides
of
