clean bench loosen two
through
bolts

back
untIl

clear of of
gear
case
but do not
remove from starter
assembly

Remove the two
bolts that attach
the
magnellc
sWItch
assembly

Remove
gear
case
from starter
as
sembly
You
may
have
to
gently
tap
or
pry
the
gear
case
to free the
case from the
yoke

LIft the shIft lever from the
pmlOn
assembly

Remove the
pmlOn stopper
located
at
the end of armature shaft To
remove the
pmlOn
stopper
frrst
move the
stopper
toward
the
pm
Ion
and remove
the
stopper chp
then remove the
stopper
WIth the
overrunmng
clutch
assembly
from
armature shaft

shde
freely
along
armature
shaft
sphnes
If
you
find
damage
or
If the teeth
are
bent or
ground
down or resIstance IS felt when
