The source of Sulfur Dioxide must be at least 55°F in order to have sucient pressure to allow the feed system to operate at
its full capacity.
Alternately air padding of the source container may be used to maintain pressure.
Another alternative is to use a Sulfur Dioxide compressor. An article entitled “COLD WEATHER DECHLORINATION” written by
David W. Sloan (December 1990, WATER/ENGINEERING and MANAGEMENT,) describes such a system.
