Serial Port 1
Use this category to select a unique address and interrupt
request for this serial port. The options are as follows:
DISABLED
3F8, IRQ4 (the default)
3E8, IRQ4
AUTO
The AUTO option selects the next available combination.
Serial Port 2
Use this category to select a unique address and interrupt
request for this serial port. The options are as follows:
DISABLED
2F8, IRQ3 (the default)
2E8, IRQ3
AUTO
The AUTO option selects the next available combination.
Parallel Port
Use this category to select a unique address and interrupt
request for the parallel port. The options are as follows:
DISABLED
378, IRQ5
3BC, IRQ7
278, IRQ5
378, IRQ7 (the default)
AUTO
The AUTO option selects the next available combination.
Parallel Mode
This category allows you to select from the following
options: OUTPUT ONLY (AT-compatible) (the default),
BIDIRECTIONAL (Personal System/2 [PS/2]-compatible),
and ECP (extended capabilities port).
Diskette Controller
Selecting ENABLED (the default) enables the on-board
diskette drive controller.
On-Board SCSI A
Selecting the ENABLED (the default) option enables the
built-in Adaptec 7880 Ultra/Wide PCI SCSI controller.
Selecting the DISABLED option disables this controller.

On-Board SCSI B
Selecting the ENABLED (the default) option enables the
built-in Adaptec 7860 Ultra/Narrow PCI SCSI controller.
Selecting the DISABLED option disables this controller.

PCI Scan Sequence
This category determines the order in which PCI devices
are scanned by the system, and it allows you to select one
of the built-in SCSI host adapters or an optional PCI
expansion-card SCSI host adapter as the boot device. The
options are:
EMBEDDED DEVICES FIRST (the default)
SLOT DEVICES FIRST
If you select EMBEDDED DEVICES FIRST, you must also
set ON-BOARD SCSI A or ON-BOARD SCSI B to ENABLED
to enable booting from a drive attached to the associated
built-in SCSI controller.
If you select SLOT DEVICES FIRST and more than one
SCSI host adapter cards is installed, the boot order is
determined by the particular expansion slot the card is
installed in. In descending order of precedence, the boot
order for the PowerEdge 4100 systems is PCI5, PCI4,
PCI8, PCI7, PCI6.
Use MP Specification
This category determines the microprocessor specifica-
tion revision level. Some operating systems require
revision 1.1. The options are:
