Removing the palm-rest and keyboard assembly
Prerequisites
1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the base cover.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Remove the touchpad.
5. Remove the rear cover.
6. Remove the display assembly.
7. Remove the solid-state drive .
8. Remove the solid-state drive 2.
9. Remove the wireless card.
10. Remove the memory module.
11. Remove the power-adapter port.
12. Remove the right fan.
13. Remove the left fan.
14. Remove the speakers.
15. Remove the system board.
NOTE: System board can be removed with the heat sink, I/O board and USB board attached.
16. Remove the power button.
About this task
After performing the steps in the pre-requisites, we are left with the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
NOTE:
When replacing the palm rest, the solid-state drive mounting brackets has to be removed from the existing palm
rest and transferred to the replacement palm rest.
