Installing The Hard-Drive Cage
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or
telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your
warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.
1. Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and
peripherals.
2. Lay the system on its side, on a flat and stable surface.
3. Open the system.
4. Insert the hard-drive cage into the system until it clicks into place.
5. If applicable, connect the power and data cables to the hard drives and optical drive in the hard-drive cage.
6. Install the bezel.
7. Close the system.
8. Place the system upright on a flat, stable surface.
9. Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn the system on, including any attached peripherals.
Removing A 3.5 Inch Hard Drive From The Hard-Drive Cage

5. Remove the hard-drive cage.

6. Press the retention clips inwards and pull the hard drive out of the hard-drive cage.
