Purge
• Follow the rst ve steps in accordance with Extracting an espresso coee.
Without inserting a capsule, press the tea/water extraction button, to pump
the water through the machine. The luminous indicators of the espresso
and coee extraction buttons go out. The indicators of the tea and Standby
extraction buttons will remain on (see Fig. 15).
• The luminous indicator of the tea extraction button ashes and the purge
operation starts.
This operation stops automatically after extracting around 180 ml of water.
• During the purge the corresponding button may be pressed again in order
to stop the operation.
Warning: If, during this operation, there is any alert because of a
lack of water, blockage or fault in the used capsule tank, the
equipment will/must be stopped immediately.
For further information about the meaning and definition of the alerts and the
luminous alarms, consult the “Alerts and Alarms” chapter (see Page 101).
• The equipment returns to the “Ready to use” mode and all the luminous
indicators of the control panel buttons are illuminated green (see Fig. 8).
• Empty the used capsule tank and the drip basin frequently.
• Wash the components and the water tank frequently.
Always turn o the coee machine by pressing/switching the On/O
general button. Remove the electrical plug from the respective socket
whenever the equipment is not being used.
Note: Frequent use of the “Purge” operation ensures improved drink quality
and proper equipment maintenance. Consult “Purge” (see Page 96).
