What to do if engine start does not work on DieHard 28.71331?
    • S
      Susan CamposAug 3, 2025
If the Engine Start function on your DieHard Battery Charger isn't working, several factors could be at play. You might be drawing more than 200 amps, which reduces crank time. Ensure you wait a full 3 minutes (180 seconds) between cranking attempts to prevent overheating. Check that the charger vents are unobstructed. If the battery is severely discharged, try using the 40A Boost rate for 10-15 minutes before attempting to start the engine.

How to fix DieHard 28.71331 that will not turn on?
    • B
      Briana PerkinsAug 9, 2025
If your DieHard Battery Charger won't turn on even when properly connected, the issue could stem from a dead AC outlet, a poor electrical connection, or a defective battery. Check the AC outlet's fuse or circuit breaker. Inspect the power and extension cords for loose connections. Also, have the battery checked to determine if it's the root cause.

If the Boost-Charging LED on your DieHard Battery Charger is flashing, it means the charger has stopped in Boost or Charge mode, possibly due to a bad battery. Have the battery checked and replaced if necessary. Disconnect the charger from the AC outlet, then remove the clamps. Avoid repeatedly trying to charge the battery; instead, have it professionally checked and replaced if needed.

What to do if DieHard 28.71331 Battery Charger does not detect a low voltage battery?
    • R
      rwallsAug 27, 2025
If your DieHard Battery Charger isn't detecting a low voltage battery, it might be because the charger was on for more than 5 minutes before being connected to the battery. The clamps are only active for the first 5 minutes. Turn the charger OFF, connect it to the battery, then switch it to the Boost/Charge/Maintain position. Finally, press the rate selection button to activate the charger.
