CTCSS code
The WT77/WT8 has altogether 38 pilot tones which work in the CTCSS
standard. A private sub-audible tone may be programmed and associated
with every channel, to protect the radio from unwanted calls or interfer-
ence from other operators on the same channel. Squelch will open and
incoming messages will be received only from radios using the same
CTCSS tone on that channel.
To change the CTCSS code proceed as follows:
1. Press the
Up-/Down
until Code appears on the
display.
2. Press the
On/Off
button to confi rm.
3. Use the
Up-/Down
button to change the CTCSS
code 0-69 (0 = CTCSS off).
4. Press the
On/Off
button to confi rm.
Squelch control
The WT77/WT8 has an automatic squelch which can be adjusted in 4
steps. In case the WT77/WT8 is used close to other electronic devices,
the squelch might open. Tto avoid this, the squelch sensitivity can be
adjusted.
To adjust the squelch level proceed as follows:
1. Press the
Up-/Down
button until appears on
the display.
2. Press the
On/Off
button to confi rm.
3. Use the
Up-/Down
button to select between 4
levels.
4. Press the
On/Off
button to confi rm.
