13 Troubleshooting
Fault Cause Remedy
The digital
control panel
does not come
on when the
on/off switch is
pressed.
Starter battery is flat (9 V).
Charge the starter battery.
Power cable is disconnected or the
plug is removed.
Contact an authorised work-
shop.
Generator earth cable is discon-
nected or the fuse (if available) is
blown.
The starter does
not work when
the start button is
pressed.
Starter battery is flat.
Charge the starter battery.
The main switch is at “0”.
Set the main switch to “I” or
“1”.
Starter shaft is dirty.
Clean the starter shaft.
Too much oil in the engine.
Drain the oil.
Inverter is damaged.
Contact an authorised work-
shop.
Power cable is disconnected or the
plug is removed.
Generator earth cable is discon-
nected or the fuse (if available) is
blown.
Starter is not receiving any power.
The starter turns
but the genera-
tor does not start.
Not enough fuel in the fuel pipe or
fuel tank is empty.
Fill up with petrol.
Spark plug is not receiving any power.
Check the electric connec-
tions.
Carburettor is not receiving any pet-
rol.
Clean the carburettor.
Air intake is blocked.
Check the air filter (see chap-
ter “Servicing the air filter” on
page 42).
Inverter is damaged.
Contact an authorised work-
shop.
Power cable is disconnected or the
plug is removed.
