Temp Switch, engine temp switch, or engine oil pressure switch; replace the switch. * A defective shutdown solenoid; carefully block the air inlet to stop the engine. * A malfunctioning relay; replace the relay. * A defective start switch; pull the wire off the shutdown solenoid and replace the defective item. * A wire shorted hot; repair the short.
