Connecting rod bearing crush
Install the bearing and cap in the con-
necting rod big end, retighten the bolts to
specified torque, unscrew out one bolt
completely, then measure the clearance
between the bearing cap and connecting
rod big end using a feeler gauge.
4) Crank shaft end play
•
Assemble the crankshaft to the cylinder
block.
•
With a dial gauge, measure crankshaft
end play.
9.2.6. Piston assembly
1) Disassemby of piston assembly
Disassemble piston according to the disassembly process of “3.1.28. Piston”.
2) Piston inspection
(1) Visual check
Visually check the pistons for cracks,
scuff or wear, paying particular attention
to the ring groove.
(2) Clearance between the piston and cylinder liner
•
With an outside micrometer, measure the
piston outside diameter at a point 13mm
away from the lower end of piston skirt in
a direction at a right angle to the piston
pin hole.
