What to do if my DR. Heater DR-988 is not heating?
    • T
      Tonya RhodesJul 27, 2025
If your DR. Heater Heater isn't heating, several factors could be the cause. First, the overheat protection may have temporarily deactivated the heater. In this case, turn the heater off, unplug it, let it cool, and remove any nearby objects. Wait 30 minutes before plugging it back in. Alternatively, the room temperature may have reached the thermostat setting; try increasing the thermostat control knob. Also, ensure the heater is properly plugged into a 240V polarized outlet. Finally, check your electrical box to confirm the breaker hasn't tripped, especially if the outlet is shared with other appliances. Ensure the unit is off before plugging it back in.

Why does my DR. Heater Heater have a burning smell?
    • J
      Jake JonesAug 9, 2025
A burning smell from your DR. Heater Heater could be due to a few reasons. Initially, it might be a drop of oil from manufacturing, which should evaporate quickly with good ventilation. Make sure the room is well ventilated. Also, ensure there are no combustible materials within 0.9 meters (3 feet) of the heater and that there's at least 5.5 inches (14 cm) of clearance from the sides and rear of the heater to any walls. Remove any combustible items and reposition the heater if needed.
