Why is my DR. Heater DR218-1500 not heating?

  If your DR. Heater Heater isn't heating, it might be because the overheat protection has temporarily turned it off. To fix this, turn the heater OFF, check for anything near it that could be causing high temperatures, and wait for it to cool down before turning it back on. Alternatively, the room temperature may have reached the thermostat setting. If you want to increase the room temperature, simply adjust the Thermostat Control knob to a higher setting.

  If your DR. Heater Heater produces a burning smell, make sure there are no flammable materials within 0.9 meters (3 feet) of it. If there are, remove them. Also, ensure the room is well-ventilated, as the smell might be due to a drop of oil on the heating coil during manufacturing, which should evaporate quickly. Finally, ensure there's at least 36 inches (90 cm) of space between the sides and rear of the heater and any walls; if not, reposition the heater.

  If your DR. Heater Heater is not heating, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, the overheat protection might have temporarily deactivated the heater, in which case the alarm LED will flash. To resolve this, turn the heater off, check for any obstructions around it that could be causing high temperatures, and wait for it to cool down before turning it back on. Alternatively, the room temperature may have reached the thermostat setting. If you want to increase the room temperature, simply adjust the thermostat control knob to a higher setting.
