Before Each Use
z The levels in the bed indicate whether the bed is in a
horizontal position. This is important when using the
integrated infant scale (see page 112).
If the levels are damaged:
z Take unit out of service.
Check the height adjustment mechanism*
z Press both foot pedals in succession to raise and lower
Caleo (see page 47).
z After the test, adjust to a comfortable working height.
When adjusting the height, the entire Caleo bassinet must lift
up and down smoothly, otherwise:
z Take unit out of service.
Check line power failure alarm
z Disconnect unit from line power.
1 The power failure LED should start blinking.
An intermittent audible alarm should start. Its volume must
remain constant for at least 30 seconds.
If the volume decreases too soon:
z Leave incubator connected to power and switched on for
24 hours to recharge the NiCd battery of the power failure
alarm.
z Repeat check.
If the volume decreases again too soon:
z Take unit out of service.
