PRECAUTIONS
VF8 DELTA/DELTA XL/KAPPA 17-3
WARNING:
A pulse oximeter should not be used as an apnea
monitor.
High oxygen levels may predispose a premature infant
to retrolental fibroplasia. If this is a consideration do
NOT set the high alarm limit to 100%, which is
equivalent to switching the alarm off. Transcutaneous
pO
2
monitoring is recommended for premature infants
receiving supplemental oxygen.
Inspect the application site every two to three hours to
check the skin quality and correct optical alignment. If
the skin quality changes, move the sensor to another
site. Change the application site at least every four
hours.
Use only Dräger-specified sensors. Other sensors may
not provide adequate protection against defibrillation
and may put the patient at risk.
WARNING: Disposable accessories (such as disposable
electrodes, transducers, etc.) are for single use only. Do not
reuse disposable accessories.
