NTRODUCTION
Charging the Batteries
Before using the Delta/Delta XL monitor for the first time, charge the internal battery
for a maximum of 6.5 hours and the external battery for 3.5 hours.
When the monitor receives DC power, batteries recharge automatically. The optional
SLA Battery Charger can charge four fully depleted external batteries simultaneously
in approximately 3.5 hours. To start a fast-charge, insert the batteries into the slots of
the battery charger with the metal contacts facing down.
Power Sources (Kappa)
The Kappa monitor uses AC power (100-240 VAC). In case of a line outage or
disconnected cable, the monitor automatically switches to battery power to provide
continued patient monitoring without any loss of data. The base unit continues to
operate and alarm on battery power for approximately 20 minutes.
An internal battery can power the Kappa
monitor (but not the Kappa video display)
for up to approximately 20 minutes depending on the monitoring setup. It is intended
for short-term use only, for example, as a backup during power interruptions.
NOTE: For the SC 7000/9000XL internal lead-acid battery, charge for a maximum of
4.5 hours the first time.
CAUTION: The battery charger display is only accurate if the batteries are in normal
working condition.

Instructions for Use before connecting the monitor to a power
source.
WARNING: Worn out or defective batteries can significantly
reduce this time.
