Attach the bayonet filters. The filter and mask body
are marked to help you.
Turn the filter in the direction of the arrows.
Position facepiece over the mouth and nose and
pull the head cradle over the head.
Pull the straps uniformily until the half-mask fits
securely and comfortably against your face. If
necessary readjust the straps.
Positve pressure test: Seal the exhalation valve of
half mask and exhale. The half mask will inflate
slightly. If the exhaled air leaks out of the mask,
readjust the face piece and adjust the straps or use
a different mask size. Repeat test until a successful
seal check is met.
Place bottom straps over your head. With the
Dräger X-plore 3500 first connect the hooks on
the neck strap (inset figure).
Negative pressure test: Seal both respiratory fil-
ters with your hands and breathe in until a negative
pressure (suction) is generated. Hold your breath
for a moment. The negative pressure should be
maintained. If not readjust the face piece and adjust
the straps or use a different size of mask. Repeat
test until a successful seal check is met.

mask can cause leaks. Always make sure
the mask forms a tight seal and the filter is
attached prior to entering a hazardous
atmosphere.

both of which must be read before using either
