How to reset clock/date on DSC SCW9045-433 v1.0 Security System?
    • R
      Ruth ClayAug 14, 2025
If your DSC Security System is showing a loss of clock/date, it means the main panel internal clock is not set. To program the time and date: Enter [4][6][Master Code] then Press [1]. Enter the time and date (in military) using the following format: HH:MM MM/DD/YY. For example, for 6:00 pm, Nov. 30, 2007, enter: [18] [00] [11] [30] [07]

How to fix low battery on DSC SCW9045-433 v1.0?
    • C
      Carmen CarrollAug 18, 2025
If your DSC Security System displays a low battery warning, it could be due to the main panel battery voltage being less than 7.2VDC. Note that the trouble condition will not clear until the battery voltage reaches a minimum of 7.6VDC under load. If the battery is new, allow 24 hours for it to charge. Verify that the voltage measured across the AC terminals is between 16-18 VAC, and replace the transformer if needed. You can also try disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery leads.

What to do if my DSC SCW9045-433 v1.0 shows AC failure?
    • D
      Dawn PetersonAug 21, 2025
If your DSC Security System is showing an AC failure, it means there is no AC power at the panel's AC input terminals. To resolve this, verify that the voltage measured across the AC terminals is between 16-18VAC. If it's not, replace the transformer.

What does general system trouble mean on my DSC SCW9045-433 v1.0 Security System?
    • E
      Elizabeth BarronAug 25, 2025
If your DSC Security System displays a general system trouble, it indicates that the system has detected either an RF Jam for 20 seconds or a failure in communication with the wireless receiver, resulting in a Hardware Fault. Check the Event buffer to determine the specific trouble. If the buffer logs an RF Jam trouble, check for external 433MHZ signal sources. You can disable RF Jam by enabling Option [7] in program section [804] subsection [90]. If the buffer logs a Hardware fault, it may be necessary to replace the panel.

How to troubleshoot telephone line trouble on a DSC SCW9045-433 v1.0?
    • K
      Kevin JohnstonAug 28, 2025
If your DSC Security System is experiencing telephone line trouble, it means the phone line voltage at TIP, RING on the main panel is less than 3VDC. Measure the voltage across TIP and RING on the panel. Without any phone off-hook, it should be approximately 50VDC; with a phone off-hook, it should be approximately 5VDC. Try wiring the incoming line directly to TIP and RING. If the trouble clears, check the wiring or the RJ-31x phone jack.

What does zone tamper mean on my DSC SCW9045-433 v1.0 Security System?
    • J
      James CollinsSep 3, 2025
A zone tamper on your DSC Security System indicates either an open circuit on a hard-wired zone or a tamper condition on a wireless device. For a hard-wired zone, an open circuit is present on one or more zones with double end-of-line resistors enabled. Remove the wire leads from the I/O and COM terminals and measure the resistance of the wire leads. Connect a 5.6K resistor (Green, Blue, Red) across the I/O and COM terminals and verify the trouble condition clears. For a wireless device, ensure the device cover is secure and that the device is correctly mounted for wall tamper operation. Violate, then restore the tamper. If the tamper condition persists, replace the wireless device.

What causes a general system tamper on a DSC SCW9045-433 v1.0?
    • A
      Angela WilliamsSep 7, 2025
If your DSC Security System displays a general system tamper, it means a cover tamper has been tripped. Verify that the tamper button is installed into the back plate and that the keypad (cover) is secured to the backplate.

How to fix wireless device low battery on DSC SCW9045-433 v1.0 Security System?
    • B
      Brent JonesSep 12, 2025
If your DSC Security System indicates a low battery on a wireless device, it means one or more wireless devices has a low battery. Note: The event will not be logged to the event buffer until the wireless device low battery delay time expires (Program Section [377] Opt 9). Replace the battery, verify zone operation, and ensure that the tamper and low battery condition is cleared and reported. Replacing batteries will cause a tamper; replacing the cover will restore the tamper, causing the associated reporting codes to be sent to the Central Station.

What does zone fault mean on DSC Security System?
    • M
      Miguel EdwardsDec 1, 2025
A zone fault on your DSC Security System indicates either a hard-wired zone fault or an issue with a wireless device. If it's a hard-wired zone fault, a short circuit is present on one or more zones with double end-of-line resistors enabled. Remove the wire leads from the I/O and COM terminals and measure the resistance of the wire leads. Connect a 5.6K resistor (Green, Blue, Red) across the I/O and COM terminals and verify the trouble condition clears. If the issue involves a wireless device, it means one or more devices have not checked in within the programmed time. Perform a Module Placement Test (Program Section [904]) to verify the wireless device is in a good location. If the test results are bad, test the wireless device in another location. If it then tests good, the original moun...
