Why is my Duke Merchandiser cabinet too warm?
    • K
      ksnowAug 9, 2025
Several factors can cause your Duke Merchandiser cabinet to be too warm. It could be due to the unit not being plugged in (simply plug it in), the thermostat being set too low (adjust it to a higher setting for colder temperatures), a stuck thermostat switch (which would require replacement), a malfunctioning evaporator fan (check and repair or replace the motor), a faulty condenser fan motor (check and repair or replace the motor), a dirty condenser coil or filter (clean them), or a refrigerant leak (find, repair, and recharge the refrigerant).

      wharringtonAug 16, 2025
If your Duke Merchandiser cabinet is too cold, the thermostat might be set too high; try setting it to a lower number for a warmer temperature. Another possibility is a thermostat switch stuck in the closed position, which would necessitate replacing the thermostat.

    • R
      Randy BuchananAug 21, 2025
If you find water in the bottom of your Duke Merchandiser unit, it could be due to a plugged drain hose (clear it) or a drain hose that is loose or disconnected from the drain pan (tighten or reconnect it).

Why are all rail temperatures above 38°F in my Duke SUB-HF-L?
    • T
      Tonya AllenAug 28, 2025
If all rail temperatures in your Duke Merchandiser are above 38°F, it could be due to a high ambient temperature. Try to correct the restaurant environment. It could also be caused by improper air balance in the building or a dirty condenser. In such cases, clean the condenser and possibly adjust the thermostat setting to a cooler position.

What causes one rail temperature to be significantly warmer in Duke SUB-HF-L Merchandiser?
    • J
      Jacqueline RamirezSep 2, 2025
If one rail temperature is significantly warmer than the others (more than 6°F or 3.3°C), and there's no frost accumulation on one of the channels, it may indicate poor liquid distribution. Try repositioning the drier assembly, ensuring the drier is at a 45% angle and the three cap tubes are parallel to the condensing unit base.
