      A warm power cord can be normal during operation. However, check your heater cord and plug connections. Faulty wall outlet connections or loose plugs can cause overheating. Ensure the plug fits tightly in the outlet. Heaters draw more current, so overheating may occur even if other appliances haven't caused it. Frequently check if the plug outlet or faceplate is HOT during use. If so, stop using the heater and have an electrician check and replace the faulty outlet.

Avoid repeatedly pressing buttons in rapid succession, as this may cause the transmitter to malfunction. Also, ensure you are within 20 feet of the front of the appliance and pointing the remote at the control panel.

      Turn the power to “OFF” and unplug the Duraflame Indoor Fireplace from the wall outlet for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, plug it back in and operate as normal. If the problem persists contact customer service.

      This is normal operation. The Duraflame Indoor Fireplace will continue to run for several minutes before shutting down completely, due to a cool-down cycle. The duration varies based on heating. The unit will blow cool air during this process.
