  The Duraflame Indoor Fireplace remote control might not be working due to several reasons: * The batteries may be dead - try changing them. * The signal could be poor - operate the remote at a slower pace, pressing the buttons gently and evenly. Avoid rapid, repeated presses. * You might be too far away - operate the remote within 20 feet of the front of the fireplace, pointing it at the control panel.

  If the flame effect works, but the heater function doesn't and the ember bed flashes when you press the heater button, it means the heater is disabled. To re-enable it, turn the power on, then press and hold the heater button on the control panel for 10 seconds. The ember bed lights will flash multiple times once it's re-enabled.

Regularly check if the plug, outlet, or faceplate is hot. If overheating occurs, discontinue use and consult a qualified electrician to inspect and/or replace the faulty outlet.

  If the heater shuts off and won't turn back on, a manual reset might have been triggered. Turn the power switch to the “OFF” position and unplug the unit from the wall outlet for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, plug it back in and operate as normal. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

  If the flame effect is working, but the heater isn't blowing warm air, check the following: * Ensure the heater is turned on by pressing the HEATER button several times to confirm it's in the ON position. * Make sure the TEMPERATURE knob is set to the maximum setting.

What extension cord to use for Duraflame DFI020ARU if the power cord does not reach an outlet?

  If you need an extension cord for your Duraflame Indoor Fireplace, it must be a No. 14 AWG minimum size, rated not less than 1875 Watts, and be a three-wire cord with a grounding-type plug and cord connection. The extension cord should not exceed 20 feet (6 m) in length. The AWG and rating information can be found on the side of the cord.
