Why does my Dyna-Glo BF10PTDG-4 Heater shut off in use (ODS operates)?
    • A
      alexandershafferAug 30, 2025
If your Dyna-Glo heater shuts off during use while the ODS is operating, it may not be getting enough fresh air, so open a window or door for ventilation. Low line pressure could also be the cause; contact your local gas supplier. Additionally, the ODS/pilot might be partially clogged, so clean it.

What to do if there is no spark at ODS/pilot when the ignitor is pressed in my Dyna-Glo Heater?
    • K
      Kyle HernandezAug 28, 2025
If there is no spark at the ODS/pilot when the ignitor is pressed on your Dyna-Glo heater, the ignitor electrode might be positioned wrong or broken, in which case you should replace the ODS. Also, check if the ignitor electrode is not connected to the ignitor cable and replace the ignitor cable if needed. The ignitor cable could be pinched or wet; free it if pinched and keep it dry. If the ignitor cable is damaged, replace it. A bad ignitor or ignition module can also cause this, so replace them if necessary. Finally, a bad battery can be the culprit, so replace it.

Why won't the burner(s) light after the ODS/pilot is lit on my Dyna-Glo Heater?
    • L
      Luke RamirezAug 25, 2025
If the burner(s) on your Dyna-Glo heater do not light after the ODS/pilot is lit, first ensure that the thermostat setting is not too low by turning the thermostat knob to a higher setting. The burner orifice may also be clogged. Insufficient inlet gas pressure could also be the reason; contact your gas supplier.

Why does the ODS/pilot light on my Dyna-Glo BF10PTDG-4 Heater go out when I release the control knob?
    • K
      Karen AndersonAug 23, 2025
If the ODS/pilot light on your Dyna-Glo heater goes out when you release the control knob, ensure that the control knob is fully pressed in and held for 30-60 seconds after the pilot lights. Also, check that the equipment shutoff valve is fully open. A loose thermocouple connection can also cause this issue; hand-tighten it until snug, then tighten an additional ¼ turn. If the thermocouple is damaged, it should be replaced. Contact customer service if the control valve is damaged. Finally, if the inlet gas pressure is too high, contact your gas supplier to check and adjust it.
