How to fix a Dyna-Glo BFSS10LPT-4P Heater when there is no spark at the pilot?
    • S
      Stephen PrinceAug 18, 2025
If there's no spark when you press the ignitor on your Dyna-Glo heater, several things could be the cause. It could be due to the ignitor electrode being positioned wrong or broken, in which case you should replace the ODS. Another reason could be that the ignitor electrode isn't connected to the ignitor cable, or the cable is damaged, so you should replace the ignitor cable. If the ignitor cable is pinched or wet, free it from any obstruction and keep it dry. A bad ignitor, ignition module, or battery can also prevent a spark, so replace the ignitor, ignition module, or the battery.

Why does the pilot light go out when I release the control knob on my Dyna-Glo BFSS10LPT-4P?
    • N
      Nicole SchroederAug 20, 2025
If the pilot light on your Dyna-Glo heater goes out when you release the control knob, make sure you are pressing the control knob fully and holding it in long enough (30-60 seconds) after the pilot lights. Also, ensure the equipment shutoff valve is fully open. A loose thermocouple connection can also cause this issue; hand tighten it until snug, then tighten an additional ¼ turn. If the thermocouple is damaged, it should be replaced. It could also be the result of the inlet gas pressure being too high, in which case you should contact your gas supplier to check and adjust the inlet pressure.

What to do if my Dyna-Glo Heater shuts off after a few minutes?
    • Z
      zmonroeAug 23, 2025
If your Dyna-Glo heater shuts off after running for a few minutes, first check that the gas supply is turned on and the equipment shutoff valve is open. Ensure the control knob is fully pressed in while pressing the ignitor. If there's air in the gas lines, continue holding down the control knob and repeat the igniting operation until the air is removed. The ODS/pilot might be clogged, so clean the ODS/pilot, and ensure the control knob is in the PILOT position. Finally, check if the propane supply is depleted and contact your local propane/LP gas company if needed.

Why won't the burner light on my Dyna-Glo BFSS10LPT-4P after the pilot is lit?
    • G
      Greg KrauseAug 26, 2025
If the burner on your Dyna-Glo heater doesn't light after the pilot is lit, make sure the thermostat setting is not too low by turning the thermostat knob to a higher setting. Another cause could be a clogged burner orifice, so you should clean the burner orifice. It may also be that the inlet gas pressure is too low, in which case you should contact your gas supplier.

Why does my Dyna-Glo Heater shut off while in use?
    • M
      Matthew WilsonAug 28, 2025
If your Dyna-Glo heater shuts off while in use, and the ODS operates, it could be due to insufficient fresh air. Open a window and/or door for ventilation. Low line pressure can also cause this, so contact your local gas supplier. Additionally, the ODS/pilot might be partially clogged, so try cleaning it.

      Shelby McconnellAug 30, 2025
