9.10 NRS 90246 CONTACT CLOSURE INTERFACE settings
Amongst others, the DSP 244 is prepared for retrofitting an optional NRS 90246 Contact Closure Interface,
which can be used instead of the RS-232 interface. The Contact Closure Interface offers eight control
inputs that can be used for program change commands or Soft-Mute.
The Contact Closure interface is equipped with a 9-pole D-SUB terminal strip (male).
The pin-assignment is:
Pins 1 - 8 : Control contacts
Pin 9: Ground
You are able to connect switches, rotary switches or relays, which are controlled through closing the
corresponding contact. While the control input 1 has the highest priority, control input 8 has the lowest; i.
e. always the function of the lowest closed contact is activated.
The retrofitted interface is automatically recognized by the DSP 244 during power on and the correspon-
ding menu appears in the option programs. This menu allows to program and assign the functions of
individual control contacts. The two SELECT keys provide the possibility to select one of the two
parameters: CNTCT (contact) or PGM (program). Setting are made using the rotary encoder.
