Guide Bar and Saw Chain / Install and Remove
1. Disconnect spark plug lead.
2. Move Chain Brake Lever (Front
hand guard) fully rearward to
unlock chain brake.
3. Remove Sprocket Guard Nuts
(A) and remove Sprocket
Guard (B).
4. Remove Guide Bar (C) and
Saw Chain (D) as necessary for
maintenance.
Note: See “MAINTENANCE
AND CARE” instructions
for guide bar, sprocket,
and saw chain
maintenance.
5. Mount Guide Bar (C) on Guide
Bar Studs (E), and slide toward
Sprocket (F) to make Saw
Chain (D) installation easier.
Install Saw Chain around
Sprocket and Guide Bar as
shown, with cutters facing
forward on top of Guide Bar.
6. Install Sprocket Guard (B) over
Guide Bar Studs (E). Make sure
Chain Tension Adjuster Pin (G)
fits into the Guide Bar Adjuster
Hole (H), and the Brake Band
(J) is positioned around Clutch Drum (K). Tighten Sprocket Guard Nuts
(A) finger tight.
