  If your Echo Chainsaw engine is hard to start or doesn't start, it could be due to several reasons. The fuel filter or fuel line might be clogged, requiring cleaning or replacement. A fuel mixture that's too rich can be resolved by opening the choke. Check the spark plug; if the spark gap is incorrect, adjust it to 0.6 mm to 0.7 mm. If the spark plug is covered with carbon or fouled with fuel, clean or replace it. If the spark plug is defective, replace it.

It could be due to a fuel strainer or fuel line obstruction, requiring cleaning or replacement (consult your dealer). The fuel mixture might be too rich; in this case, open the choke, clean or replace the air filter, or have the carburetor adjusted by your dealer. Also, ensure the STOP switch is in the ON position and check for electrical or interlock switch issues (consult your dealer). Finally, inspect the spark plug for incorrect gap, carbon buildup, fuel fouling, or defects; adjust the gap to 0.65 mm (0.026 in.) or replace the plug as needed.

  If your Echo Chainsaw engine runs but dies or does not accelerate properly, check the following: A dirty air filter may be the cause, so clean or replace it. Also, check the fuel filter, and replace it or the fuel if dirty. A plugged fuel vent can also cause this issue, so clean or replace it. Inspect the spark plug; if it's dirty or worn, clean and adjust it, or replace it. The carburetor might need adjustment. Additionally, ensure the cooling system is clean and not plugged. Lastly, a plugged spark arrestor screen can cause this, so replace it.
