Why does my Echo Trimmer crank but not start?
- MMelissa McdowellJul 28, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer's engine cranks but struggles to start, or doesn't start at all, several factors could be at play. One potential issue is a lack of fuel reaching the carburetor, which might be due to a clogged fuel strainer or fuel line. Another possibility is that the muffler is wet with fuel, indicating the fuel mixture is too rich. Also, ensure the switch is in the ON position. If there's still no spark, it could point to an electrical problem or a faulty interlock switch. Other reasons for the absence of spark include an incorrect spark gap, carbon buildup, fuel fouling, or a bad spark plug that needs replacement.
