Note: Removal of cooling passage blockages or cleaning of cooling
fins is considered “Normal Maintenance.” Any failure
attributed to lack of maintenance is not warranted.
Cleaning Grill and Cylinder Fins
1. Remove accumulated debris
from intake grill between
backpack frame and blower
housing.
2. Disconnect spark plug lead
from spark plug.
3. Remove spark plug.
4. Remove engine cover.
5. Loosely install spark plug to
keep dirt out of cylinder.
6. Clean cylinder fins to allow
cooling air to pass freely.
7. Reassemble parts in reverse
order.
