Adjust the gap to 0.65mm (0.026 in.), clean or replace the plug if it's covered with carbon or fouled with fuel, or replace the plug if defective.

  If your Echo Trimmer engine is hard to start or won't start, possible causes include a fuel strainer or fuel line obstruction (clean or replace it), a fuel mixture that's too rich (open the choke, clean or replace the air filter, or adjust the carburetor), the stop switch being OFF (turn the switch to ON), or an incorrect spark plug gap, a carbon-covered plug, a fuel-fouled plug, or a defective plug (adjust the gap to 0.65mm (0.026 in.) or clean or replace the plug).
