E C O P H Y S I C S Operating Guide
CLD 780 TR / July 2000 49
(17) “Param.“-window
This window allows the operator to change various parameters e.g. sam-
ple inlet set temp., valve purge times various etc. and tool shut down the
PMT cooling system.
1. “Inlet“: The sample inlet temperature (default setting 60 °C) can be
adjusted from 50 °C to 80 °C.
2. “PMT“: switches the PMT cooling system “ON“ or “OFF“ manually .
If the PMT cooler is manually switched off, this state is stored in system
memory, and next time the instrument is switched on the PMT cooler will
remain switched off. The instrument remains in this state, which is indicated
by the warning W-01 (“PMT cooler switched off“), until the PMT cooler is
manually switched on again from this window.
3. “Delay“: Set the purge times for each valve from this window:
a) “Rea“: CLD 780 TR solenoid valve (see Fig. 3.1, pos. 6)
b) “Cal.“: Solenoid valve (sample/cal. gas) in PLC 762
c) “Cnv.“: Solenoid valve (NO/NO.c) in PLC 762
Each valve may be set to have a purge time independent of the others.
Values from 20 to 9999 ms. are accepted. (Default setting: 1000 ms.)
To return select “MEAS“ or “MENU“.
Caution: If the error E-10 (“Inlet heating fail“) appears, the heating
loop is immediately shut down. The analyzer still operates, but this
may lead to unstable measurement data.
Caution: Because thePMTt is very well thermally insulated, it reaches
room temperature only several hours after the instrument is switched
off. Do not disconnect the PMT purge flow from the front panel during
this time, otherwise water vapor diffusing into the system may con-
dense out and destroy the PMT tube.
