14.2. Control of Cell Purity and Absorbing Mobile Phase
Control of cell purity and absorbing mobile phase is performed at the wavelength used for
measuring or at the wavelengths used in the program.
Caution: Measure on a stabilized unit and measuring cell without bubbles.
A common problem are also air bubbles stuck inside the cell in the area of light transmission.
They cause worse measuring results. The bubbles may be caused by gas released in the liquid.
Stuck bubbles may be seen with naked eye after removing cell from the unit and its observation
through optical part against light (e.g. window, etc.). Appropriate way how to remove them is to
rinse the cell with HPLC acetone or dry it with nitrogen gas.
