DIFFERENTIAL FEED
The differential feed mechanism is used to prevent wavy stitching and
fabric jams.
Also, this mechanism allows you to gather fabrics.
JAMMED FABRICS
Jams are common with woven or lightweight fabrics. For even seams, set
the differential feed regulator below Level 1.
WAVE STITCHES
Wavy stitches may occur when sewing knitted or elastic fabrics. To prevent
wavy stitches, set the differential feed regulator below Level 1.
The stitch width can be adjusted from R 4.5 mm (11/64 “) to 7 mm
(9/32”).
The standard stitch width for normal overlock stitching is 5 mm (13/64
inches).
To achieve the desired feed speed, adjust the differential feed regulator as
shown in the illustration below.
The differential feed can be adjusted from 0.7 to 2.0.
The default is 1.0.
