PREPARING FOR FIERY CONTROLLER SETUP 23
About Setup
Setup configures the Fiery Controller to communicate with other devices and manage print
jobs. Perform Setup the first time you turn on the Fiery Controller, after new system software
is loaded, and any time Server software is reinstalled. Then perform the remaining Setup
options from Configure. When the network or user printing environment changes, change
the options accordingly.
You can perform Setup from either a networked computer using Configure or from the
printer touch panel. Configure Setup allows you to use your keyboard to enter setup options.
If you prefer to use Configure to configure the Fiery Controller, see Accessing Configure
from a network computer on page 32.
Setup from a network computer
To set up the Fiery Controller from a network computer, use Configure (page 32). Access
Configure from WebTools or Command WorkStation.
Setup from the printer touch panel
If the Fiery Controller is connected to a Xerox WorkCentre 7800 Series you can use the
printer touch panel. Use Setup from the printer touch panel to specify minimum network
settings to put the Fiery Controller on the network. Use Configure to specify the remaining
setup options. If you do not make settings in the remaining Setup menus, the Fiery Controller
uses default settings. You must choose settings appropriate for the printing environment at
your site.
