Service / care
Your loudspeakers are maintenance-free. Changes in their acoustic behavior over the years are so minimal that it is safe to assume
that human hearing will change more over time than the loudspeakers.
Clean your loudspeakers only with a soft, dry, and lint-free cloth, or with a brush. Do not use scouring powder,
alcohol, benzene, French polish, or similar agents. Never expose your loudspeakers to high levels of humidity.
Major temperature uctuations, humidity, and excessive exposure to sunlight may damage the loudspeakers and
alter the appearance of the nish.
Modern furniture is frequently coated with a wide variety of varnishes and plastics, which may be treated with numerous dier-
ent chemical agents. Some of these agents may contain substances which can attack or soften the rubber feet tted to loud-
speakers. For this reason, we recommend placing an anti-slip mat underneath the loudspeaker.
Should your loudspeakers malfunction, seek expert advice. Your authorized dealer will be happy to assist. In the case of loud-
speakers that are destroyed, for example, due to improper use by a third party, special expertise is required to carry out repairs
and reinstate trouble-free operation.
Warranty
The terms of warranty are regulated individually by the law in the dierent countries and by the terms of the international ELAC
representatives respectively. If you did not purchase your appliance in Germany, please check the terms with your retailer. War-
ranty can be provided by any special retailer who has been authorized by ELAC or the respective international representative to
distribute ELAC products (EU contract retailers). In the case of warranty, the complete appliance together with the warranty card
and sales receipt must be handed over to the retailer.
Product control
Every production step is individually checked. Each part of a loudspeaker (e.g. driver or crossover) is tested several times from the
time it arrives at the plant until nal assembly. During the nal inspection, every loudspeaker undergoes rigorous acoustic testing
by skilled engineers who listen to verify the acoustic quality of each frequency range.
Our loudspeakers are checked with regard to polarity (incl. the polarity of individual drive units), distortion, and amplitude/
frequency response. The loudspeaker is automatically evaluated at a computerized test bench and released for packaging if the
relevant measurements are within the specied tolerance range.
To adhere to the narrow tolerance limits, it is necessary to severely restrict variations e.g. in membrane weight, magnetic eld
strength, or in the values of the electric components used. This is because inaccuracies in individual components can have a cu-
mulative eect in the overall system. Adherence to ELAC quality criteria and guidelines is the most important factor in achieving
maximum production quality at all times.
Loudspeaker disposal
The box and packaging provide the correct protection for your loudspeakers, and should be kept in case you need to transport
them in the future.
The packaging is an important recoverable material. It consists of EPS (Styrofoam packaging), PE (bag, foam sheet, and molded
parts), as well as cardboard, which should be properly recycled. We have an agreement with your authorized dealer to take back
and dispose of the material in a way that guarantees to us that the material is correctly sorted prior to disposal. We would there-
fore ask that you return your packaging to your authorized dealer for disposal.
Recycling
Support the environmentally-friendly disposal of electronic scrap. Waste electronic and electrical equipment must
not be disposed of in the same manner as regular domestic waste! Environmentally-friendly recycling must take
place in accordance with the respective national regulations.
