3.4 Manual operation
Both displays and the related control elements are identical in the layout and handling. As long
as tracking mode isn’t active, both HMIs are completely separate, even in their HMI settings.
3.4.1 Switching the device on
The device should, as far as possible, always be switched on using the toggle switch on the front of the device.
Afterswitchingon,thedisplaywillrstshowthemanufacturer’slogo,nameand address, followed by device type,
rmwareversion(s),serialnumberanditemnumber.Thelatestsetvaluesarerestored.
A PS 2000 B device doesn’t restore the DC output condition. It will always come up with DC o.
3.4.2 Switching the device o
• Cutting the AC supply, no matter if caused by using the power supply or a blackout, doesn’t leave the device
enough time to store the latest values. It’s practically powered down immediately. Thus the device stores the set
values and all settings automatically when they are altered, but only in intervals of 10 seconds. It means, if you
would have changed some settings in the menu, you should wait at least 10 seconds after leaving the menu
andbeforeswitchingthedeviceo.
3.4.3 Conguration via menu
Thesetupmenuservestoconguresomeoperatingparameterswhicharenotchangedfrequently.Thesecanbe
set by pressing button Settings, but only while the DC output is switched o.
Menu navigation is done using the rotary knobs, their pushbutton
function and the Settingsbutton.Followingisdened:
• Settings button: open menu or leave menu
• Left knob (turn): select a menu item or parameter
• Left knob (push): enter selected menu or leave sub menu
• Right knob (turn): adjust the selected value
• Right knob (push): move cursor
The setup menu has two levels. In order to leave the 2. level to the
1. level and instead of exiting the menu, you can select the item
Menu in the upper left corner and push the knob.
