4. Pass the thread under the thread guide r from
the right to the left.
5. Slip the thread into the slit t of the take-up lever
cover from the bottom.
Pull the thread up and hang it up over the third
thread guide y.
6. Pull down the thread and slip it into the left notch
of the guide plate u.
7. Pass the tread from the right to the back of the
needle bar thread guide i.
8. Thread the left needle o from front to back and
pull the thread about 10 cm (4˝) from the eye of
the needle to the back under the foot (refer to the
previous page for how to thread the needle).
