Symptom Solution
The LEDs of the power supply do not
illuminate when the unit is switched
on
• Check that the mains cord of the power supply is properly connected to the mains supply
• Check the power supply of the dental offi ce
• Turn the power knob of the unit to ON and check if the LED is lit
• Replace the transformer
• Send the unit and the accessories to an approved Hu-Friedy & EMS repair center
No irrigation fl ow when the foot pedal
is pressed
• Turn the liquid fl ow rate knob to the maximum
• Make sure that water comes in external device for the Piezon 150
• Make sure that the bottle is properly installed for the Piezon 250
• Disconnect the ultrasound handpiece and check that the liquid exits from the cord
• Use compressed air (max. 3 bar) and check that air comes out of the handpiece
• If the air does not come out of the handpiece send to an approved Hu-Friedy & EMS repair center
• Replace the external fi lter for the Piezon 150
• Replace the pump head for the Piezon 250
• Check the connection of the foot pedal
• Replace the foot pedal
• Send the unit and the accessories to an approved Hu-Friedy & EMS repair center
No ultrasound oscillations when the
foot pedal is pressed
• Check that the handpiece is connected to the handpiece cord
• Control that the instrument is tight
• Check that the instrument is not cracked
• Check the connection of the foot pedal
• Replace the foot pedal
• Send the unit and the accessories to an approved Hu-Friedy & EMS repair center
Ultrasound power decreasing or
inadequate
• Check that the selector is beyond the position 4
• Control that the instrument is tight
• Check the wear of the instrument and replace if necessary
• Replace the handpiece
• Send the unit and the accessories to an approved Hu-Friedy & EMS repair center
Water leaks between the handpiece
cord and the handpiece
• Replace the O-ring on the handpiece cord
• Replace the handpiece
• Send the handpiece to an approved Hu-Friedy & EMS repair center
Only Piezon 250:
Water leaks from the bottle or the
device
• Check the O-ring of the bottle cap
• Replace the bottle
• Send the handpiece to an approved Hu-Friedy & EMS repair center
Insuffi cient lighting of the handpiece • Replace the light guide
