5.2 Installing the module
5.2.1 Bus termination (module 485 only)
If you want to use the internal resistor of the module for bus termination, you must set the hard-
ware switches ( å 27) before installing the module.
5.2.2 Installation conditions
‣ Find out about the upgrading possibilities of your device.
E.g., use the configurator on the product’s web site: www.products.endress.com/cm442
or .../cm444R or .../CSF48 ...
Notes:
• You can use a single fieldbus protocol only. Example: HART is activated on your device. After
the installation of the 485 module, you enter an activation code for PROFIBUS DP. The HART
communication will now be deactivated!
• When installing the module to a CM442/442R, all possibly existing current outputs will be
deactivated!
• You can use a maximum of 2 additional current outputs with a CM444/444R or CM448/448R
device or with CSFxx or CA80XX devices.
