12 Troubleshooting
12.2 Test program
This program can be used to monitor the thermal and electrical functions of the built-in heating and cooling
elements.
The basis of this program is the monitoring of individual factors which are necessary for setting specific
temperatures for heating and cooling. The result is provided in the form of a number (index), which indicates
the condition of these elements. The device status can be documented by repeating the test program at
regular intervals.
How to execute the program
All positions of the block of the Mastercycler
®
and Mastercycler
®
gradient remain empty (i.e. no tubes are
inserted). The heated lid is closed but not locked. Please ensure that the device has been set up correctly. The
test should take place at room temperature (22
°
C); any deviations in the ambient conditions when the test is
repeated should be recorded.
– Select the test program (Main-Menu/
OPTIONS../GENERAL../VALID..../
TEST) and confirm by pressing
.
– When a printer is connected, select
"Use printer:YES" using the key
and confirm by pressing .
– Start the program by pressing the
key.
Note
:
The duration of the program is
approximately 25 minutes; no more
entries are necessary during this
period.
The program ends with an index
value appearing in the display.
– Exit the program by pressing the
key.
