5. Set the Mode option as follows:
• Click Automatic to have the printer driver analyze the contents of 
your image or file and make the appropriate printing adjustments. If 
a 
Quality/Speed slider appears in the Mode box, set it to Quality 
for higher resolution prints. 
• Click PhotoEnhance to have the driver automatically adjust the 
contrast, saturation, and brightness. You can also select automatic 
enhancements or filters for 
People, Nature, Soft Focus, Sepia or 
Digital Camera Correction.
• Click Custom and then choose one of the following settings, or 
click the 
Advanced button and see page 65 for more information. 
The two 
Advanced Photo settings let you print at either 1440 dpi 
(
Advanced Photo) or 2880 dpi, the highest resolutions available.
The 
Text/Graph setting intensifies colors and lightens the midtones 
and highlights for non-photographic output. 
The 
ColorSync setting applies color management based on the 
printer’s ICC profile, using the perceptual rendering intent.
6. Choose from the following buttons to access additional features:
• Click   to access the printer monitoring and maintenance utilities. 
See page 70 for more information about the Status Monitor utility. 
See Chapter 4 for details about the maintenance utilities.
• Click   if you want to reduce your image to fit the page or for 
other layout options. 
• Click   to turn on background printing. This lets you work on 
your Macintosh while you’re printing and use the Monitor IV 
utility. See page 68 for more information.
• Click   to check your ink levels.
• Click   and then click the Preview button to preview your print.
7. When you’re finished choosing print options, click 
Print. You can also 
select 
Save File or Preview.
